Payroll Administrator
American Railcar Industries, Inc., a manufacturer and service provider of railroad freight cars, has an immediate opportunity at our Headquarter Office located in historic St. Charles, MO for a Payroll Administrator. The overall responsibility for this position under general supervision is responsible for, but not limited to, processing payrolls, maintaining payroll records, expense report processing, cashier account administration, annual 1099 reporting, and ERP vendor maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintenance of garnishment records.
- Works closely with payroll supervisor to generate weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls.
- Obtains W-9’s for new vendors for preparation of 1099s.
- Responsible for cashier account check preparation and funding.
- Helps to implement and/or streamlines procedures within the department to facilitate efficient processing of payroll data.
- Able to communicate effectively with internal and plant location employees.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years payroll experience.
- PeopleSoft payroll experience preferred.
- Microsoft Word and Excel experience required.
- Strong ability to work with deadlines and ability to work independently.
- Good organizational and analytical skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Effective follow-up skills.
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude.

ERP Business Analyst
American Railcar Industries, Inc., a manufacturer and service provider of railroad freight cars, has an immediate opportunity at our Headquarter Office located in historic St. Charles, MO for an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Business Analyst. The overall responsibility of this position is to review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs. The primary functions of this position are to document requirements, define scope and objectives, and formulate systems to parallel with our overall business strategies. The main objective of the position is to analyze and convert business processes and rules into system requirements and documentation, while also providing general ERP systems support to business users.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead business and functional requirements definition using interviews, business process definition descriptions, scenarios and workflow analysis.
- Evaluate and analyze information from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details and identifies true underlying business needs.
- Document requirements, process flows, use cases, test cases, training plans and user guides.
- Present potential solutions to meet business users’ needs.
- Acts as liaison between business user groups and Information Technology Department.
- Identify and assist in the development of additional value-added services to the business community.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 4 years experience in similar role or equivalent business, manufacturing or service experience.
- Experience with a business ERP system, SAP experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience gathering requirements, writing functional specifications, test cases and executing multiple phases of testing with web based applications.
- Strong Analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to successfully engage and balance multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must have the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of management & subject matter experts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Visio.
- Ability to travel to Plant locations, approximately 25% travel required.

MANAGER-OPERATIONS REPAIR SERVICES
American Railcar Industries, Inc., a manufacturer and service provider of railroad freight cars, has an immediate opportunity at our Headquarter Office located in historic St. Charles, MO for a Manager – Operations, in our Repair Services division.
The overall responsibility of this position is to partner and work closely with the Repair shops as well as the various functional areas throughout the Fleet Services to provide support for our quality assurance, regulatory, and audit initiatives and objectives.
A solid background and experience in the railroad industry, technical expertise, strong problem solving skills, and good communication skills are necessary and required.
Department-specific (on-the-job) training will be provided as it relates to the job responsibilities. Duties will be performed on a regular basis (daily or serving as the functional back-up for the responsibilities).

- Demonstrated ability utilizing problem-solving skills required and within a production environment is preferred.
- Must have excellent organizational skills with a detailed- and process-oriented approach.
- Must have the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of management & subject matter experts.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
